Seit er 2006 sein erstes Album bei Concord Music vorlegte und gleich für einen Grammy nominiert wurde, ragt Christian Scott weit aus der Schar talentierter junger Jazzmusiker hervor. Mit jedem weiteren Album setzte der Trompeter und Komponist neue Maßstäbe. Die Kritik überschlug sich vor Begeisterung, obwohl sie seine Musik nicht den üblichen Schubladen zuordnen konnte.
