Here’s your chance to join! We’re looking for a WebOps Engineer (all genders) to become part of our Digital Products & Innovation team at our Headquarters in Berlin. It will be a permanent full-time position.
 
Your tasks:
  • You ensure the operation and security of our web infrastructure in cooperation with the hosting partner and agencies
  • You work alongside product teams, review planned applications and ensure that they can be reliably operated on a scalable infrastructure.
  • You provide recommendations for the use of supported standard components as well as for tools to be used for developing new applications
  • You work with the following tech stack: AWS, GCP, Gitlab, Gitlab CI, Varnish, Kubernetes, Docker, Sentry, Prometheus, Grafana and so on
  • You coordinate the communication among the departments, the hosting partner as well as the external agencies
  • You define and monitor compliance with agreed upon SLAs
  • You ensure the operational availability of our applications and websites by monitoring and testing their performance
  • You plan processes and oversee their implementation
  • You are an active member of the developer’s community of practice and maintain a steady exchange with the international IT and Global Security Office
  • You share your know-how, e.g., in the form of trainings, presentations or workshops, which you prepare yourself
 
Your professional profile:
  • You hold a degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics or a similar field, or were able to acquire the required knowledge through relevant work experience
  • You are well-versed in networking and highly available server landscapes for web applications and have already gained experience with scalable infrastructure such as Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, AWS and GCP
  • You bring advanced knowledge in DevOps and SRE approaches and are also familiar with agile project management methods
  • You are also highly skilled in Linux systems and services for web sites (Bash, Apache, PHP, MySQL, Varnish, Firewall, Log File evaluations)
  • You are equipped with profound knowledge in HTML, CSS, Java Script, PHP, GIT and in the architecture of web applications
  • You stand out positively if you have experience in Streaming Ops and in the field of audio / video
  • Experience in automation via Ansible or Infrastructure as Code like Terraform is also an advantage
  • You feel confident and natural reading, writing and speaking English; German skills are a plus
